Astrological review of SWM 2020 till 17th August for India and Chennai

This is the review of what I presented on 12th March 2020, on planetary yogas and cyclones for 2020. We will check the rainfall events till the 17th of August.

The overall rainfall period based on one of the top astrological features namely, closeness of Mercury and Venus is present in the following dates in 2020:

The first event:

What happened :

Remarks: 100% success, but I don’t want to gloat over, because my primary aim is to figure out the astrological features for advance prediction of cyclones and rainfall.

I already listed down the important features for cyclones in March blog. That stands vindicated.

The most important features to be present are as follows:

  • Mercury – Venus closeness (or a powerful rainfall yoga) should be there.
  • One of them should retrograde and move towards the other so that the gap between them gets reduced quickly. That signals onset of a meteorological event.
  • The period of stalling before and after retrogression signals intensification. Once the stalled planet starts moving, cyclonic storm also starts moving.
  • The day the planets cross each other signals landfall or dissipation.

These conditions were present in the event of Cyclone Amphan.

The second event:

What I wrote:

In the same blog, I gave the following in date-wise analysis.

Venus crossed Mercury from forward, by which Mercury started going forward of Venus in Taurus (southern direction) which was also occupied by Sun and Moon and aspected by Mars from Aquarius.

Mercury = windiness if in front of Venus and other planets.
Martian aspect on all of them = heat related.

Sun + Moon + Venus in Taurus (sthira rasi) = good rains.

A combination of all these was witnessed

What happened:

Then followed the genesis of Cycle Nisarga.

Genesis on 28th May when Mercury was about to cross Rahu. The two were within 1 degree distance and moving towards each other. But initially it was thought to move to west of Arabian Sea.

But then it moved towards west India

Remarks:

I wrote SWM onset (based on the date) or cyclonic event.

It turned out to be a cyclonic event impacting west India.

The trigger was similar to Cyclone Fani when Saturn moved towards Ketu within 1 degree.

Sequencing the astrological events:

  • On 28th – 29th Mercury crossed Rahu : Trigger for meteorological event.
  • Mercury in the lead of all planets: Trigger to wind-related meteorological event. Genesis of Cyclone Nisarga.
  • Sign is Gemini: Western direction.
  • On 3rd June, 12-30 PM Venus crossed Sun in Taurus. Venus at 19-45 degrees. Sun at 19-03 degrees. Landfall.

Within the period of Mercury- Venus closeness, 2 events related to cyclone had happened.

  1. Mercury crossing Rahu and coming in front of all planets
  2. Venus crosses Sun in Taurus.

The result is cyclonic event.

At the same time SWM onset in Kerala on 1st June was reported.

The third event:

What I wrote:

Two spoilers were there: 1. Mars in Dahana Nadi. 2. Saturn in opposition to sun.

Barring a few days of heat, the rest of the period saw wet days in general.

What happened:

Remarks:

If sun is in the lead of all planets, the spoilers do not work. In NEM 2016 and 2017 spoilers took the lead in the absence of any rainfall supporting combination.

Mumbai rains:

Within this period, Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall. Intense rains started from 2nd and lasted till 5th August. In the same period Venus was crossing Rahu.  The sign was Gemini (West). Right from the time Venus was 1 degree away from Rahu in the front and left Rahu by 1 degree there was heavy rain.

Remarks:

Always look for other planets crossing across Rahu or Ketu in the monsoon season when powerful planetary yogas are present in favour of rainfall.

Review of Chennai rainfall based on Local Garbottam at my place.

The local garbottam data collected till 17th August was posted on 9th March, 2020

I have filled the last column on reality check.

All that is marked in red were rainfall realized.

Only on two days it rained with no garbottam link. But then this observation being personal and round the clock, there is every chance I missed the garbottam.

On quite a number of days, it didn’t rain on garbottam supportive days. Most of them were in May when Mercury- Venus closeness was there. When I try to figure out the causes, I can only say human errors are bound to be there in observation. Overall I am content that whenever it had rained, they were marked by me as garbottam-supported.

Checking with Solar Garbottam posted on 9th March 2020

Solar Garbottam is found to have a very high accuracy in rainfall prediction.
